Global XRS Refurbished Inside and Out

The Elite Air-managed Global XRS based in Tampa, Florida, has undergone both exterior and interior refurbishment. The long-range heavy jet is under charter-friendly ownership and ready to fly.

The aircraft’s previous owner had painted the XRS in gunmetal gray and outfitted the interior with maroon leather and carpeting. While created by a renown automotive designer, the resulting cabin was polarizing.

“A good number of customers didn’t love it, I’ll admit,” Elite Air President AJ Becker said. “But some people were on the other side of the spectrum.”

The XRS’s new exterior and interior offer more standard, neutral looks, featuring primarily gray and blue tones. The aircraft’s updated body design includes a two-tone paint scheme and new tail number.

The Global XRS has a range of 6,300 nautical miles, can carry 14 passengers and reaches Mach 0.89 at a maximum altitude of 51,000 feet. Its stand-up cabin is nearly 8 feet wide and more than 40 feet long. The jet’s steep approach and takeoff angles allow it to operate out of some of the world’s most challenging airports, and its state-of-the-art avionics include auto-throttles and a heads-up display.

“The old design on this Global was striking,” Elite Air CEO and Operations Director Gray Gibbs said. “I personally liked it. But I know many people disagreed. The new design is less daring, but the high gloss black woodwork is gorgeous, and it’s likely to attract a lot of charter customers.”

The Elite Air-managed Global XRS has been repainted, given a new tail number, and traded its polarizing maroon interior for a more neutral look.
